This warm and light TVC grade titled “Totally Irresistable” launched the 2018 multichannel campaign for Calypso Mangoes.  In the thirty second commercial, created by Elevencom Sydney with director Richard Vilensky, a generous mango lover, the “Calypso Man” gives away most of his box of mangos before being forced to make a choice over the last remaining fruit.

Angela Cerasi of Peachy Keen Colour did the colour grade, imbuing the TVC spot with warm, light and natural feels to ooze beachy, retro Australian Summer vibes, while making the product – Calypso mangoes – look fresh, juicy and totally irresistible.

The Calypso brand is a mango variety owned by Australian produce company, Perfection Fresh.  The Calypso mango was introduced in 1999, the first new mango variety in over 30 years, and it really shook up the Australian market.  They have a unique pink blush, smaller seed, and juicy, fibre-free flesh.

This campaign included TV, radio, digital, print and social channels.  It was very successful and the agency later brought back the “Calyspo Man” for a new campaign in 2021.
