This short YouTube series was directed by Laura Clelland and colour graded by Angela Cerasi. The series was colour graded as part of Angela’s 2018 free colour grading initiative to support emerging female directors and DOPs. Director/ producer Laura Clelland was Brisbane-based, like Angela, and had recently been selected as one of Screen Producers Australia’s “One’s to Watch.” Angela loved meeting and working with Laura, producer Sandra Makaresz and DOP Brendan Shambrook during their in-person colour grading sessions.
Laura Clelland has been freelancing in film production for over 20 years and also runs Queensland’s crew booking agency Essential Crew. Angela Cerasi also colour graded Laura’s excellent comedy/ drama short film Long Black, in 2022.

Charming and hope filled, with a splash of drama, it’s a feel good series that explores the everyday trials that shaped Jess into the person she is today.

The short series won BEST DRAMEDY at the Asia Web Awards, BEST KIDS SERIES at Sydney Web Fest, AWARD of EXCELLENCE Indie Fest Film Awards, BEST WEB SERIES PROMO at the New Media Film Festival and was awarded BEST WOMAN FILMMAKER at the Barcelona Planet Film Festival – an amazing run!
