Brisbane Colourist Angela Cerasi colour graded this gorgeous video for Tourism Western Australia. The film features Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo and his best mate Blake Mills road-tripping on a stunning Western Australian road trip adventure. Angela worked with Rhythm Films director Adam Rule to showcase some of Perth’s most picturesque vistas, from Perth (Boorloo) to Exmouth (Warnangoora) along the Coral Coast Highway. The resulting short film shows off the country at its best. Endless coastlines, surreal colours, unique characters. An epic adventure of dreamlike landscapes and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. A journey of freedom, anticipation, wonderment and reconnection.
The shoot, which involved a convoy of five 4WDs including the cast and crew, took nine days and covered more than three thousand kilometres. As well as the beautiful scenery, the film includes moments of connection between two great friends, singing along to their favourite playlists, teasing each other and having deeper conversations – like all great road trips! Agency Rhythm and Rhythm Films encouraged unscripted dialogue between Daniel and Blake to ensure the moments were real and genuine.
From Western Australia’s Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism, the Hon. Rita Saffioti:
“The ‘Drive the Dream’ campaign takes road tripping, as seen through the eyes of Daniel Ricciardo, to a new level. The campaign will help Western Australia to stand out as one of the world’s most unique, memorable and desirable places to undertake a road trip adventure, now and into the future.”
A group of talented Western Australian (and one South Australian) musicians created the soundtrack that enhanced the local flavour of the film and accentuated the road trip vibe.
The campaign will be rolled out domestically and in key international markets.
Angela Cerasi also recently colour graded a Kailis jewellery commercial for the team at Rhythm Films here.
