Peachy colourist Angela Cerasi applied a bold and moody grade to this 2019 University of Queensland commercial, directed by Nick Robertson for production company Taxi Film and agency Ogilvy. Post production was facilitated by The Post Lounge in Brisbane.
The 2019 brand campaign for the University of Queensland built on their existing brand platform Own the Unknown, and showcases the quality of University of Queensland’s teaching, their student employability outcomes and their vibrant campus life. The aim of the campaign was to attract student recruitment at QU. The original 2018 campaign aimed to modernise the identity, support best practice principles and to bring the sub-brands of the university under one large, more cohesive umbrella. These goals were carried through to this campaign.
The narrator in the commercial says:
Our future is full of unknowns. We can choose to shy away from them, or discover everything there is to know about them. When you learn from the best teachers in the nation, you’ll be prepared for your first job and beyond. Own the unknown with the University of Queensland.
The TVC was accompanied by a strategic print campaign from agency Ogilvy, with slogans like “Every Known Starts with an Unknown”, “Creating the most employable graduates in the state” and “Learn from the most awarded teachers in Australia”.
Peachy loved the use of vibrant purple throughout the campaign – a nod to the University of Queensland’s brand colour. Lots of light and shadow helped create the bold, moody vibe.
